Why Banana Milk Products Are Free

Banana Milk was created with you in mind and only you. We had just started university with a new Ipad and apple pencil and we wanted to start digital planning and notetaking. There weren’t many free options available that we considered good for our type of planning style so one of us had the idea to make this brand and we stuck with it.  

Who is Banana Milk for?

Banana Milk is for everyone and anyone. We create planners for the everyday person and all the students out there. Of course, our academic planners aren’t dated for every school system around the world so we include academic pages in our yearly planners to accomadate for that.

Why does free matter?

Many people in our lives stressed how we shouldn’t make Banana Milk free since it was our hard work and intellectual property but if we did charge, we would be just like every other digital planning brand and we just didn’t want that for ourselves. The point of the whole matter was to help people who were like us and couldn’t afford to buy quality planners. So we came to the consensus that FREE IS FREE and that would be our brand.

What kinds of products do you make?

We focus on yearly planners, academic planners, notebooks and the occasional templates, journals, stickers and wallpapers. For our planners specifically, we tried to switch it up every release since the type of planning style for each individual would be different but now we have settled on just the Daisy style.

Why is accessibility part of the brand?

We come from a country where money for young adults isn't really a thing unless your parents are on the wealthier side. We grew up in a lower middle class income family that didn’t allow for spending on things deemed unnecessary and a digital book was definitely not necessary. So we understood the want without the means. To make it worse, most teens do not have a debit card/credit card to purchase online (at least where we are from), I know we didn't, so we couldn’t even consider making it not accessible to all of those who were just like us.

How can people support without paying?

You can always follow us on our different social medias and interact with us because we have always wanted to have a little community that participated in upcoming releases or even give ideas. We always respond and at a pretty fast pace. It always makes our day to see a new message and see an interaction from you guys.

How does the community help shape future products?

We always look for feedback or requests and we appreciate it so much when we get insight on what the community wants for future planners. However, the response rate has been small, especially to polls on instagram, patreon or the discord so half the time we just do whatever we feel like.

Due to how many people liked the Daisy planner, we decided on making that our main year and academic planner layout, of course the yearly daisy and the academic daisy will have its differences. Due to a busy life (we are working now) and lack of responses we thought having something that we just have to improve upon year after year makes more sense than a completely different planner style every year. We love Banana Milk and how it has grown oever the years and I don't think we plan to stop anytime soon and even if we do, we might just make a bunch of blank versions of our different planners and keep the website up so everyone can still have access to them. We aren't the most advanced type of planners where the calendars are linked to apps on your devices but I think the planners do their jobs for something useful and simple.
